The foreign dignitaries then met with representatives of the ATB and Permanent Secretary Mr. Foster Rogers.
In a letter by Mr. Riley to Hon. Haydn Hughes, he had the following to say:
Dear Haydn,
Minister Skerritt and I enjoyed our visit toAnguilla. I had personally not been there in a number of years and so I welcomed the opportunity to see and sample some of the incredibly impressive product on your island.
We especially appreciated the arrangements your office made on our behalf and the time which Chief Minister Hughes took to outline some of the issues that needed to be addressed. I’d like us to continue that discussion so that we can determine, where appropriate, what assistance our CTO offices could provide. The meeting with your tourism stakeholders was also particularly helpful to us.
We will follow up with you on the air service issue and the other matters discussed. In that regard there are several aviation consultants with whom we are in contact and who I think will be useful resources.
The meetings met our objective of learning more about the issues affectingAnguilla’s tourism. I hope we were able to strengthen our ties and establish a basis on which to provide services and resources that will make the CTO even more useful toAnguilla.
Very best regards.
Hugh
