Anguilla’s newly appointed Summer Festival Committee chairman, Davon Carty, held an initial meeting with the heads and members of the various Summer Festival sub- committees at the Anguilla Tourist Board. The dedicated committee members, who give their time on a voluntary basis each year – briefed the Chairman on each of the key festival activities and explained the challenges involved. They also offered suggestions for improvements and opportunities to increase participation. Representatives from Finance, Calypso, Bands, Marketing, Troupes, Anguilla Tourist Board and Beach Party discussed the way forward and the focus of the discussion was how bring “ the best, most well organized and well attended Summer festival to Anguillan’s returning nationals and tourists.
Mr. Carty, who brings great experience in the Music and Events Industry to position through his career as Show and music Producer says, “it is not this committee’s intention to change anything fundamental about Anguilla’s Summer Festival – just to look at what is not working as well as it could be – and improve it for 2012, so that we can keep Summer Festival thriving and well for all to enjoy.”
