The Royal Anguilla Police Force and the Education Department today Wednesday 27th May, 2015 graduated some 240 Second Form students of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School at a graduation ceremony held at the school’s Campus B.
The ceremony that was chaired by Senior Teacher, Mr. Dwayne Adams was also attended by Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rudolph Proctor, Education Officer Multi-professional Services, Mrs. Jacqueline Connor and other officials from the Ministry of Social Development as well as parents of the graduating class.
The Commissioner of Police who was the keynote speaker, said, “Your effective use of this model in Defining, Assessing, Responding and Evaluation will help you make wiser decisions in your life. By establishing what the problem is and considering what are your options for response before responding will demonstrate that you are practicing restraint within the circumstance.”
Commissioner Proctor, continued, “The fundamentals of the program that you can utilize while in school can also so be applied when you are at home or anywhere as a matter of fact and most importantly even when you become adults.”
During the ceremony several students were recognized for their outstanding work.
Commissioner Proctor was recognized by the DARE Officers, Shawn Lake and Augustina Carbon and presented with a token of appreciation. In making the presentation Officer Carbon said, “We thank you for your unwavering support and for continuing the DARE program despite its shortcomings. We’ve had difficult and challenging times but with your positive attitude and encouragement we’ve reached this far, by God’s grace.”
The Commissioner, who retires in July this year, was also wished every success as he does so by the DARE Officers
The DARE program is in its 7th year at the ALHCS having been introduced there in 2008 when the RAPF partnered with the Ministry of Education.
