The U- 15 and U-19 junior basketball tournament has begun at the North Hill basketball court on Thursday the 26th of February 2015.

The opening game of the tournament saw Philly (U15) take on Top Gunnaz (U15). Philly came out victorious with a final score of 55 to 23. Philly was led in scoring by Shekium (Rotten) Lake and Edmund Garroway who scored 18pts each, Eldon (Super) Richardson led Top Gunnaz with 15pts. The first major upset of the tournament came in game 2 as new team to the tournament OTF (U19) defeated defending champions Top Hill (U19) 35 to 34. Ramon Hodge led OTF in scoring with 11 pts, while Leondro (Fish) Lloyd led Top Hill with 12pts.

On 27 Feb 2015, game one saw Junior Hoyas (U19) defeating Bandits (U19) 42 to 36. Junior Hoyas was led in scoring by Shaquille (Boozer) Samuels with 14pts, while Glenville (Como) Hodge led Bandits with 12pts. Game 2 featured Young Starz (U19) vs. Pointers (U19), Rashaun Jackson led Young Starz with 17pts to a comfortable victory of 70 to 57. Pointers were led in scoring by Jaleel and Rockeem with 17 pts each.

On 28 Feb 2015, OTF were soundly whipped by tournament favorites Young Starz (U19). Juniour (Fezeek) Rogers led Young Starz with 20pts and OTF (U19) was led by Chavoi Gumbs with 9pts. Final Score 68 to 34. The second game of the night, Top Hill (U19) vs Junior Hoyas (U19) was rained out.

On 1 Mar 2015, the under 15 were in action in the first game, Bandits (U15) held on to defeat Top Hill (U15) 29 to 26. Bandits were led in scoring by Ramon Hodge with 12pts while Tafari Smith led Top Hill with 11pts. In the second game of the night Pointers (U19) got back to their winning ways by defeating Bandits (U19) 52 to 44. Jaleel Scarborough of Pointers led all scorers with 26pts and Glenville (Como) Hodge led Bandits with 17pts.

Athletics
The 2015 Ashley & son’s Road Relay is schedule to take place on Sunday, 8th of March.

This is a race which has been sponsored by Ashley and son’s supermarket for the past 21 years and features participants from the primary schools and the five houses of the ALHCS.

The event will begin at 2.00pm sharp with primary school girls’ bike relay, followed by the boys. Then the running relays for primary school girls then primary school boys and then ALHCS girls and boys relay.
All athletes are expected to be present by 1:30 pm.

The general public is invited to come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun and great athletic performances as the athletes prepare for their upcoming sports days.

The event is organized by the Anguilla Amateur Athletic Federation in collaboration with the management of Ashley’s Supermarket.
