(The Valley, February 20, 2015) As part of its mandate to foster partnerships with key players in the tourism and hospitality sector, the Anguilla Tourist Board has joined with the Anguilla Air and Sea Port Authority (AASPA) in its ongoing development plans for the Blowing Ferry Terminal.
Under the enhancement program, AASPA on Thursday February 19th, 2015 undertook the erection of a Welcome Sign at the entryway of the terminal facility. The sign, which was conceptualized, designed and constructed by local graphic artist, Andy Brown and his team at Hi-Tek Signs & Designs, draws on the national colours and the iconic Three Dolphins of Anguilla to first Welcome all users of the Terminal to Anguilla “Tranquility Wrapped in Blue”, while the alternate side thanks all users for visiting Anguilla, and bears the logo of AASPA, as well as the name of the facility.
The sign was commissioned by the Anguilla Tourist Board, and erected as part of the development project at Blowing Point with the support of the Anguilla Air and Sea Port Authority and the Ministry of Tourism.
“The Anguilla Tourist Board is committed to working with its various partners in the Tourism sector to enhance the visitor experience on the island”, notes Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board, Mr. Ralph Hodge. “The Ports of Entry are our visitors’ first point of contact with Anguilla’s tourism product, and we are pleased that this vital area of our product is receiving the attention it deserves.”
Other key initiatives envisaged under the development project include enhancement of the Arrivals Hall and the Customs Hall, and the installment of signage and advertising facilities within the arrival area, as a fitting complement to the structural revisions currently being undertaken at the Port.
