reuben and bern0002 IMG-20150208-WA0007The above individuals now married and living in Anguilla were teenage sweethearts in St Maarten – but in the march of time they lost contact with each other for 40 years. Bernadine travelled to the UK and later returned to Anguilla but Reuben remained in St Maarten.

In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, this week, they both commented on their reunion:
Reuben declared to Bernadine: “40 years ago I said to you that I loved and needed you. I have proved it to you – and everyone else – that you are not easy to forget. I just could not get you out of my mind – you cannot be erased. It is not over until God says it is over.”

Bernadine commented concerning their marriage: “The foundation of our marriage was started over 40 years ago in St Maarten. God has done a great work in our lives and brought us back together. We feel like we were never apart. We feel happy and complete at last. We are blessed to spend the rest of our lives together.”
