Lots of interesting entries were submitted to the competition which was launched on October 1st, 2014, giving amateur and professional photographers a fantastic opportunity to showcase their creative talents.

Samantha Laurent was pleasantly surprised when representatives from Anguilla Yellow Pages contacted her with the good news and a grand prize of US$600 for her photo entitled, “Bikini Sunset-Old St. Mary’s School Building”. The “People’s Choice Awards” went to Derrys Richardson who took home US$300 after receiving the most votes on the Anguilla Yellow Pages Facebook Page for is photo entitled, ‘Island Smile’.
To enter the competition people were required to upload their original photographs highlighting Anguilla’s life including scenery, people, places or things, to Anguillas’ Facebook page. Entries closed on November 14th, 2014, and the winner was then selected by a panel of experienced and qualified judges including Jade Raymond, Marketing Manager from LIME, and Joan Richardson, representing the Anguilla Tourist Board. All judges shortlisted their top choices before deliberating to decide the overall winner.

Marketing Director of Anguilla Yellow Pages, Carla Powell, was encouraged by the positive response to the competition: “Entries to Click the Cover Photography Contest exceeded our expectations, and we were thrilled to see how this initiative attracted so much interest; it is wonderful to host a contest which allows the entire community to enter.”
