Craft Stall Santa Steel BandThe Soroptimist Christmas Fair was held this year at a new location, near its the Day Care Centre, which proved to be a good place that could accommodate all the many stalls including craft, paintings, cakes, gifts, decorations, locally-made soaps, books, plants and more. There were also games for the children including a bouncy castle.

Santa was there assisted by Mrs Santa and many children spent time with him giving him their Christmas wishes. The Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School steel band provided Christmas music under the direction of Dumpa. The moko jumbies were a great attraction with some of the smaller children appearing scared of them.

Soroptimist members prepared food for the delicious lunch and there were drinks – for the many visitors to the Fair – that were much needed on the hot and sunny day. The change of location was to accommodate all the stalls and the lunch tent in case of rainy weather.

First prize in the raffle was won by Euton Richardson who won round trip tickets for two from Anguilla to San Juan. The second prize went to Ermin Austin and she was delighted with her 32-inch Samsung flat screen television set. Third prize, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, was won by Sheila Haskins.
The funds raised at the Fair will be used for the Soroptimist Day Care Centre.
