Jet Skis

My wife and I have been going to Anguilla since 1992. I estimate we have traveled there 25 times, and we have often brought family and friends. I do not need tell a belonger about the changes that have occurred since then – both good and bad. I am concerned about the proposal for jet skis which would violate the tranquility of your island.

One reason we love the island so much is because it is quiet and tranquil. If jet skis were allowed, as a visitor I would start to view Anguilla as no different than St. Thomas or Aruba. I would urge your Legislature to take into consideration that travelers would be offended by the onslaught of jet skis. Even though we normally stay at Meads Bay, it would make no difference to us if jet skis were only allowed at the other four bays. It would only be a matter of time before they invade the entire island.

Though you may attract some travelers by allowing jet skis, you would lose many as well.
