Dear Mr. Hughes,

This is to inform you that on several occasions you were heard to state publicly from a political rostrum that, “Rev. Clifton Niles, is out there telling lies… after being in the pulpit as a minister to get a job in government”. In addition you indicated that I was entering politics because of money considerations.

The last such occasion was at a public political meeting in Welches on September 18, 2014. I regard this bold statement made by you as a personal attack on my character and integrity, an attack which is intended to defame me in some way and do me personal harm.

I Wish to inform you that I do not indulge in such behaviour. I view these personal attacks on my good name with the utmost seriousness, and as such they warrant my equally serious response. I therefore use this medium to request that, within ten working days of the above date, you publish in an Open Letter the specific lies, when spoken, and where, that I have told in public or from any political podium. Failure to do so will result in my having to exercise options open to me.

I await your reply.

Thank you and best wishes.

Sincerely,

H. Clifton Niles, Rev. Dr.
