The BassHeads Car Club held its first annual cycle race dubbed “Best of the Worst Cycle Race” on Sunday, August 31. The race started and ended at the Barbershop at Little Dix.

The race was held as one of the club’s community activities to encourage and support cyclists in the community and others who are not fortunate to place in the top 3 races held by the Anguilla Cycling Association. Cyclists from the BassHeads Car Club were eager to prove that they were the best among the rest thus the race created much excitement and attracted spectators from various villages.

A total of twelve cyclists entered the race, pedaling two laps around Island Harbour, East End, The Farington and Stoney Ground to the finish line at Little Dix. The results were as follows:

1st Sylvester Parris
2nd Denecio Brooks
3rd Alex Smith

The club has expressed thanks to those persons/businesses who saw the need to support the event, namely: Mossack Fonseca & Co (Anguilla) Ltd, Progressive Pest Control and Mr. Evans McNiel Rogers. The club is also grateful to Digicel for use of its tents, the Royal Anguilla Police Force, spectators and well-wishes. The club hopes to make this an annual event and looks forward to the continued support of all.
