St. Mary’s Anglican Church, in the heart of The Valley, is being given a planned facelift which has been sped up with the coming Royal Visit to Anguilla by the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
St. Mary’s will be the venue for the service to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen who will be represented by the Earl and Countess ofWessex.
Bishop Brooks, who will conduct the service, told The Anguillian that the Church building was being repainted by a number of persons, whose services were engaged by the Church, and voluntary workers from the landscape department of CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa who were pruning trees and otherwise clearing the grounds.
Bishop Brooks will be presented with the insignia of the OBE by Prince Edward (the Earl of Wessex) at a reception at Government House on Monday evening, March 5. Bishop Brooks was appointed OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for 2010.
