Trophy Winners with Governor Alistair Harrison and Dawn Wright Trophy Winners with Governor Alistair Harrison and Dawn Wright

On Saturday, 18 February, 28 players, including 4 women, competed for the Annual Island Golf Championships. Winning the Men’s Championship Trophy, the Peter Johnstone Claret Cup, for the first time was Chad Meldrum with a gross score of 78. In the ladies’ draw, winning the Tom Wright Memorial Trophy was Paula Walden with a gross score of 101.

Other players in this event were playing for various prizes for the best Net Score ( Gross Score less a handicap). The winners led by Eustace Guishard, 1st, followed by Malcolm Hope-Ross, Tommy Astaphan, Phillip Day, Glenford Gumbs. Natalie Le Senechal took first low net for the women.

The next Golf Association event will be a qualifier for a position on the 20 person Anguilla Golf Team which will participate in the Annual 3 Country Challenge, pitting theAnguillateam against teams from both the French and Dutch sides of St. Maarten/St. Martin, being hosted by the Anguilla Golf Association for the third year.
