The Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of their new thrift store called “Second Chances” located in the cottages behind the Wallblake House next to St Gerard’s Catholic Church in the Valley. Gently used and new clothes and household items along with books will be on sale to the public. Funds from the sale of these items will be used to support the animal shelter located at Morlens Veterinary Clinic at Sandy Hill of which the expenses are well over $45, 000 us dollars per year.
The AARF Shelter accepts unwanted puppies and kittens & adult dogs and cats & depends solely on donations and community support and receives no government funding. AARF also sponsors spay and neuter surgeries to control these unwanted births.
The Second Chances sign located at the entrance to Wallblake and St Gerard’s indicates when the shop is open or closed. Regular hours will be Friday afternoons from 3-6 and Saturday mornings from 9-12, with other hours to be determined upon the availability of volunteers. If you wish to donate gently used items they can be dropped off at the AARF shelter. A drop off box on the site is under construction and soon to be completed. For more information please call 476-AARF (476-2273) to obtain hours of operation. You may also leave a message and we will return your call during the store’s open hours.
AARF wishes to thank the public for their continued support of the shelter and the animals in our care.
