Tina Hines was the facilitator and main speaker at a recent meeting organised by the Soroptimist Club and the Gender Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Hines is the President and life transformation specialist of For My Sister Friends, an organisation that she started in 2011. She travels to Anguilla often and met several people here who took the initiative to organise the meeting.

The participants included a cross section of people including civil servants, retirees, hotel workers and business professionals. Tina aims to help her sisters to recognize that an inner woman may be lying dormant within each one of them. The session was very successful, and well attended, with what was described as a comfortable atmosphere where persons were open to express themselves and ask questions. Those who attended said that the time was too short and requested a one-day workshop for next year when Hines is visiting.
Tina was born in New Jersey and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She co-authored a book “Her Story His Glory” about surviving suicide and defeating depression. She has also written several articles. She hosts a yearly “Remember Me” retreat in the Caribbean and has appeared on Good Morning America. She believes that inner harmony translates to outer beauty, and one of her favourite quotes is: “When you feel good internally, it is exuded externally. No make-up required.”
