The Investigators was founded by Mrs. Challenger-Gibson in October 2008 to encourage students to develop an appreciation for the history and culture of our region. Students in Year 1-6 in High School are given the opportunity to participate and to become members of the History club.

The event commenced with the beautiful sounds of the local steel pan played by Mr. Martin (Dumpa) as he entertained the audience as they made their way into the Rodney Mac Arthur Rey Auditorium. Mr. Johnson known for his high energy profile took the stage and the music of the famous game show Jeopardy began to play as the Houses marched in, proudly holding their flags representing their team colors. Maroon House coached by Mrs. Michelle Carty, Orange House coached by Ms. Shauna Richardson, Pink House coached by Ms. Judy Edwards, Purple House coached by Ms. Carina Rouse, followed by Yellow House, coached by Ms. Shan Webster. Each team took their seats as their cheers were heard miles away.

The Judges of the evening were introduced; Head Judge, Evette Harrigan of Safe Cargo a proud sponsor, the host and Coordinator of the event Mrs. Janiera Challenger-Gibson took her position on stage and the competition began.

One hundred and twenty one history related questions were presented to the students in the six categories. The players impressed the audience by their knowledge of Anguilla’s History as they buzzed. Attendees of the event were overwhelmed by how much knowledge they gained by the end of the evening.

With her “secret” buzzer technique and her superb knowledge of Anguilla’s History, Arielle Gaskins of Pink house took home the Mrs. Janiera Challenger-Gibson trophy award, stealing a total of 3600 points making her Best Quizzer of the event. Her prize a computer tablet was sponsored by Heritage Collection Museum. Kenvia Hodge of Yellow House stole 2600 points placing her as 2nd Best Quizzer.

There were a total of five rounds. Between each round, prizes were given away to the audience as the Judges collaborated scores. Between rounds the audience applauded performances from Yerdi Fleming, pantomiming an historic memory of Anguilla days gone by. And “Paper” performed by ALHCS Theater Arts Students.
