Clarissa Lloyd, Terrestrial and Wetlands Conservation Officer at the Anguilla National Trust, has been chosen to participate in the Caribbean-Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (C-EWCL) Programme.
The C-EWCL is a newCaribbeanbranch of the US-based initiative that was launched in 2005. The EWCL is an opportunity for young up-and-coming conservation professionals to gain skills and experience working with other conservation leaders. During the two years, participants work in teams to develop, implement, and evaluate a wildlife conservation project in the region. It is a competitive application process with only 12 individuals chosen to participate in each two-year programme. The programme begins with an initial week-long training exercise at the end of April inAntigua.
Lloyd is a 2010 graduate of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School, has an Associates degree in environmental science, and is currently employed at the Anguilla National Trust. She is also the President of the Youth Environmental Society of Anguilla.
