Nathalie Le Senechal became Anguilla’s first Female Gold Medallist and Larry Stott the Island’s first Male Gold Medallist as the Anguilla Golf Association’s new Monthly Medal Tournament got underway at the spectacular Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa on Saturday.
Yet again the Course looked stunningly beautiful as 28 golfers set out in hot, sunny conditions for the Islands inaugural new prize and the golf befitted the high standard of the course.
The Monthly Medal will now continue for 9 more rounds finishing in May 2015 after a short break during September and October.
Each month, a gold, silver and bronze medal will be competed for in a net stroke play format.
Points will be awarded to all golfers competing and a League Table will be produced to determine the Islands Golfer of the Year Award in both the Male and female categories’.
The Golfers of the Year will be awarded their trophy at an Awards Dinner slated for end of March 2015.
The April 2014 winners are:
FEMALE GOLD…. Nathalie Le Senechal
FEMALE SILVER….Angela Lampe
FEMALE BRONZE….Althea Turner
MALE GOLD….Larry Stott
MALE SILVER….Glenford Gumbs
MALE BRONZE….Nigel Donaldson
The Anguilla Golf Association wishes to thank the Staff of the Cuisinart Golf Club for their sterling efforts again on Saturday and also the Chef and staff at the Italia Restaurant for the after match repast.
Match Referees Maki Kobayashi and Ryan Bowey.
A special mention goes out to the April Medals Sponsor… Mr Tommy Astaphan.
Finally, the AGA wishes to thank all of its members who took part in this very tough yet exciting Tournament and looks forward to Round 2 on May 10th.
