NINE CRIMES: APRIL 2-9

Information from the Police states that nine serious crimes were committed in Anguilla during the period April 2-9.

Of that number, there were four thefts in George Hill, Rey Hill, Corito and The Quarter. The stolen items included cellular phones, electric wire and money. One burglary was reported in Stoney Ground where jewellery and money were stolen.
The other offences were: two reports of gunfire at North Side and South Hill; a report of rape; and a report of a house on fire at East End.

Eight persons were arrested during the period as follows: two males to prevent a breach of the peace; one male on suspicion of discharging a firearm; one male for theft; one male for assaulting a Police Officer; one male for being armed with an offensive weapon; one male for trespassing; and one male for immigration purposes.
Seven traffic accidents were recorded during the period.
