The Editor
The Anguillian,
Dear Sir
It has just been brought to my attention that my Christmas 2013 mail to Anguilla was not received on the Island and in consequence the usual Christmas and New Year greetings to old friends were not delivered. This is the second year running that this has happened. By good fortune, I learned of the fate of the 2012 cards early enough to send others, albeit they arrived after the festivities. This latest occurrence may have created the impression that Mrs. Canty and I have passed on or forgotten about our old friends; neither is true!
I am therefore contacting you in the hope that you will publish this letter in “The Anguillian” as proof of life and an apology to old friends.
If, as I believe, my mail is not the only mail to go amiss and businesses are having to rely increasingly on routing their communications through commercial resources in Miami, then perhaps “someone ought to do something about it”?
With all good wishes,
Brian Canty
