4 THEFTS, 4 BURGLARIES

Police in Anguilla are investigating nine crimes committed on the island during the period March 14-30.

The matters included four thefts at Island Harbour, Long Path and Sandy Ground. Among the stolen items were bicycles, a water pump and a boat engine.

There were also four burglaries at South Hill, Stoney Ground and The Valley. Among the stolen items were flat screen televisions, ceiling fans, a computer, an AC unit, jewellery, clothing, foodstuff and a sum of money.

As stated elsewhere, there was a report of gunshots fired at Island Harbour.

Twelve persons were arrested during the period as follows: four males and two females on default warrants; two males on suspicion of discharging a firearm; one male to prevent a breach of the peace; one male for obstruction; one male for psychiatric evaluation; and one male on suspicion of theft.

There were five traffic accidents.
