Last Saturday 22nd March, the Anguilla Golf Association hosted the fifth annual 3 Country Tournament between Dutch St.Maarten, French St.Martin and Anguilla.
However, the hosts as reigning Champions, were to relinquish their title to the French in a blaze of colour as 60 golfers of all shapes and sizes, women and men , and various handicaps set about competing for this years title.
The Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa was yet again produced in its glorious best conditions, the course was immaculately dressed, the greens were very fast yet true and the sunny day and views across the blue sea to St.Martin were stunning.
The golf played was of a very high caliber, the French winning with a huge points total of 516 to a 500 tie between Anguilla and Dutch St.Maarten.
Monsieur Levy of the French team scored an incredible 37 points and cleared the entire filed by 4 points from the second highest score of 33 from Anguilla’s Chad Bourossa.
Marki Kobayashi, Golf Professional at the Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa, presented the trophy to the French Captain Yannique.
Mr Noel Egan, President, on behalf of the Anguilla Golf Association, thanked his counterparts Messrs Olivier La Taste (French St.Martin), Keith Graham (Dutch St.Maarten) for organizing their teams for the day, he went on to thank the Director of Cuisinart Golf, Don Johnson, the Course Superintendent Thomas Peabody, Head Professional Ryan Bowey and Marki Kobayashi for a wonderful presentation of the course.
