On Monday February 10th 2014, the President of the Anguilla Community College met with Mr. Year 5 2014, Shaquan Lake, Ms. Year 5 2014, Kristina Davis, and Head of Year 5, Ms. Michelle Queeley. Mr. Lake and Ms. Davis emerged as the winners of the Mr. and Ms. Year 5 Pageant which was held on February 01st 2014.
As the winning couple, these fifth form students are the first recipients of the prize sponsorship of the ACC 50% tuition scholarship for a full time Associate Degree at the Anguilla Community College. The sponsorship is valued at over EC$10,000 for each student and covers a two year period.
Mr. Shaquan Lake plans to pursue an Associate degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Ms. Kristina Davis has selected the Associate in Business Studies as her field of study. The students are expected to begin courses at the Anguilla Community College in September 2014 provided they make standard matriculation.
Professor Louden congratulated and encouraged the students to take seriously this opportunity to start their tertiary education at the Anguilla Community College. He indicated that they would be part of history as the first to receive this scholarship as well as among the first cohort of students to study at the new ACC campus in the Long Path.
The students, teachers and their parents expressed gratitude to the Board of Directors and staff of the Anguilla Community College for supporting and providing this scholarship.
The Anguilla Community College looks forward to speaking to all fifth form students and parents of fifth formers throughout the course of this year as they prepare to make important decisions concerning tertiary education subsequent to the completion of their CSEC subjects.
