Representing the Governor’s Office, Kim Cutler presented a cheque for USD$2,500 on Wednesday 8 January to Daphne Jacobs Richardson from ALHCS for the music department.

The money was donated by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) to fund additional musical instruments for the school’s orchestra. The donation came following a dinner hosted by HE The Governor at Government House on Sunday, at which the Anguilla National Culinary Team demonstrated their many talents in preparing a meal for senior NACS representatives using the freshest local Anguillian ingredients.

Henry Armour, President and CEO of NACS from the NACS said:
“We are delighted to support the young people of Anguilla to develop their musical skills. There are many talented musicians here in Anguilla, and we hope that this contribution will help to develop the stars of tomorrow”

On receiving the cheque, Daphne Jacobs Richardson said:
“This money will be so helpful in growing the musical talents of our young people. There is a strong relationship between musical training and lifelong success, and this generous contribution to the ALHCS music department will hopefully accelerate their success even further.”
