Several days ago, footballers of all ages, and other members of the public, stared in disbelief at the more than four feet of flood water which completely covered the field at the Anguilla Football Stadium and barred both players and spectators.

A weekend later, on Sunday, December 4, it was a different picture. Instead of the mass of water, the field was a riot of colour with teams in bright uniforms at play on an attractive carpet of grass well rejuvenated by the flood water. Luckily, the settlement did not adversely affect the grassy field which the Anguilla Football Association spent so much time growing and mowing.

The tournament, now in progress, is the Football League in which the following teams are participating: the Roaring Lions, Strikers, Kicks United, Attackers,Sansa Ballers and Docks United.
