The Seventh-day Adventist Church-affiliated Pathfinders organisation in Anguilla is continuing to progress well with the enlistment of a growing number of young people.

The latest addition to the very active organisation came on Saturday, October 30, when a special induction and pinning service was held at the Mount Fortune Church. The entire Sabbath School and Divine Hour periods were combined to facilitate the event. The induction programme for the Ambassador Pathfinders was under the leadership of Malcolm Webster, the current Pathfinder Director. He was assisted by Clive Smith, Jr., one of the senior leaders, who presented the young people to him for induction. The Pathfinder Ambassadors included Friends, Companions, Explorers, Rangers, Voyagers and Guides.DSC_7791

The new Pathfinders were trained by several persons in leadership positions who accompanied them during the pinning of the membership buttons. Even after the event, a number of other young people freely volunteered to join the Pathfinders Club which is well known for its church and community activities in Anguilla.

DSC_7796Pastor Leriano Webster, the newly-appointed Intern in the Ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, offered words of encouragement to the youngsters and their families. “God has called our young people to do even a greater work than our adults,” Pastor Webster, who is a Pathfinder, said. “The Bible tells us that in that last days a young child shall lead them. I encourage you, brothers and sisters, that you continue to support our Pathfinders.”DSC_7800

During the induction service, Director Malcolm Webster said it was graduation day for the Pathfinders. “The induction service is how we welcome the new Pathfinders,” he stated. “We were trying to give everybody an idea of some of the activities they are involved in. “Overall, it continues our ministry and the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

They represented St Martin/St Maarten, Statia and Anguilla. “We were very able to compete as a Club in the various camp activities. The children worked very hard. We came home with five first place awards, three second place awards and two third place awards,” he said.DSC_7805
