On Tuesday, 8th October, 2013 the Department of Nutrition and Health Promotion, Health Authority of Anguilla presented to the Edison L. Hughes Public Library, The Valley, Anguilla a rack with health information brochures. This rack will enable members of the general public to have access to a variety of health topics such as diabetes, hypertension, cancers, sexually transmitted diseases, asthma, healthy weight, and others. We at the department are quite aware that a holistic approach must be applied to health and will ensure a number of brochures covering several subject areas that affect one’s health are available.Meanwhile, the information rack has limited space so persons can ask for any topic brochure of interest that may not be displayed. Remember, knowledge is power and it can enable you to make early or timely decisions about your health.

We at the Nutrition and Health Promotion Department are also appealing to school children to read the brochures and make use of this information that is available. This health information rack can be used to assist students in researching information for their School Based Assessment (SBA), Internal Assessment (IA) and other school assigments.

The aim of the Nutrition and Health Promotion Department is to promote health and prevent chronic diseases and injury by enabling persons to exert control over the determinants of health. Please make use of this heath information rack and learn more of what you can do to live a healthier life. Special sincere thanks to the Anguilla Library Service Department for partnering with us on this initiative.
