The fifth annual KooL FM Children’s Day was an overwhelming success. The event that was designed for bringing our young people together and affording them the opportunity to have fun and learn while meeting and appreciating other children from across the Island, was held on the grounds of the Agriculture Department, Saturday 17th August 2013.
In a statement from the Director of the Children’s Day Committee Mr. Leroy ‘Brother Lee’ Richardson, indicted that “the day’s success came about through the strong support of the many sponsors and contributors who made significant contributions towards all aspects of the event”. The committee would therefore like to thank our Platinum sponsor the Anguilla Social Security Board and Gold sponsor Mr. Scott Houser who have partnered with us for the past five and three years respectively. Words of appreciation go to Joseph Williams USA, the Families-Friends-Well Wishers & Anguillians in Atlanta Georgia, and Tropical Shipping in Miami Florida.

Our local contributors: Mega Savers, Best Buy Supermarket, Blanchard’s Beach Shack & Restaurant, J.T.R. Security Services, Hon. Jerome Roberts, Mr Samuel “Sam” Webster, South American Lumber, Chrislyn Hughes, Waste Tech, Vanterpool Water Delivery Services, Sydney Gumbs, C&N Jumbo Plaza, Essentials Book Store, Uneek Supplies, L & J Business Machines, Safety Step, Lee Brooks and other Anonymous supporters. Thanks also to 4C’s & I Rental Service and the Anguilla Red Cross Society who contributed to the equipment for the grounds and to Larry Foods at Ashley & Sons who prepared the meal for the Snack Boxes”. To the Pepper Steppers, thanks for your partnership and for such a wonderful presentation. Thanks to our helpers, Pat Dasent, Eulah Bartlette, Vernette Laidlow, Agriculture Department-William Vanterpool, KooL Fm management and Staff the Children’s Day Committee.

Mr. Richardson went on to say that “while the most excited part of the KooL FM Children’s Day for the children may have been the games, skipping and the receiving of gift bags; the highlight would have been the two workshops facilitated by Mr. Nigel Linton with the “Importance of Exercise” and Shermin Adams with “Healthy Eating Habits.” Commendations must be given to these two who while offering their voluntary services, drew a very high attendance for both segments. A special thank you goes to Anguilla Access, Kevin Croft (Buddy Willa) & Ras Bucket, Anita Ruan, John Martin and all who volunteered to help, to the parents and the media who have helped to make the Kool FM Children’s Day the success it was.”
