Two groups from the Klassique Academy of Dance and Performing Arts Anguilla (“Klassique”) – K-Squad and the Yellow Diamonds – travelled to St. Barths to compete in an “Inter-Island Dance Competition” held on Saturday, 18th August 2013 and hosted by “The Youngz Association.” There were nine groups participating in the competition.
Both Klassique groups performed exceptionally well. The Yellow Diamonds received the highest score for the first round of the competition, guaranteeing them a spot in the final round. In the final round, K-Squad was able to keep the crowd on edge and was successful in capturing the 1st place prize in the entire competition. The Yellow Diamonds placed 3rd.
The Board of Directors wishes to extend congratulations to both K-Squad and The Yellow Diamonds on their exceptional performances in the competition. The Board also wishes to extend thank you to the choreographers (Valencia Prentice, Omari Gumbs and Holly Jahn) and the members of K-Squad and Yellow Diamonds for their hard work in representing Klassique and by extension, Anguilla, in St. Barths.
