The week kicked off the day after Memorial Day holiday, with an appearance by award winning Chef Darren Connor, owner of Sarjai’s Restaurant in Anguilla, on Tuesday, May 31st on Good Day New York, New York’s top morning show that airs on WNYW FOX5.

Chef Darren cooked up a spectacular seafood spread for hosts Greg and Theresa, who were accompanied on set by George Wayne, former Vanity Fair contributor and great friend of Anguilla. Chef Darren prepared an array of mouthwatering dishes, including Anguillian Snapper Creole, Coconut Crusted Shrimp, Coconut Curried Shrimp, Grilled Lobster and Tuna Tartare Crisps. A sparkling Anguilla Blue Tranquility cocktail complimented these dishes, representing both the azure seas and national colors of the island.

“Anguilla is back, and the top morning show in New York, our largest source market, is the ideal vehicle to carry this message,” said Mrs. Donna Banks, Chairperson, ATB. “We are positioning the island as a culinary destination, and Chef Darren has provided an excellent portrayal of what we have to offer to New York’s foodies, who are also avid travelers,” she continued.

While in New York, Chef Darren Connor also conducted a cooking demonstration at Bloomingdales flagship store at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue on Thursday, June 2nd ; and prepared Anguillian Conch Fritters at the Anguilla Lounge at Rum & Rhythm on Friday, June 3rd at Capitale on Bowery Street.
