With the upcoming Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Tournament this weekend in Anguilla, the island’s Masters Cricket Club has received a donation of twenty sets of uniforms for its participation in the event.

The presentation ceremony was held at the James Ronald Webster Park on Monday evening, May 21, and was presided over by Renford Kelsick, a member of the Club.

The uniforms were made available by Michel Morton, on behalf of Zarna Brokerage and Trucking, and were presented by him to team captain Lawrence Carty. The Masters Club cricketer thanked Mr. Morton for sponsoring the uniforms, and hoped that more persons would come forward with other donations in the future. Each set includes a hat, field uniform and a warm-up suit.

Mr. Carty said the Anguilla Masters intended to make the island proud of them at the weekend, and that he was looking forward to the support of the community (by attending the tournament).

Presentation of Uniform

Former Director of Sports, Alkins Rogers, commended Zarna Brokerage and Trucking for providing the uniforms. He said the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Tournament was now in its 14th year, and was the brain child of Anguilla.

He expressed confidence in the Anguilla Masters Team and was of the view that it would emerge winner of the tournament.
