This united thrust takes place in the heart of The Valley under the yellow-and-white tent located opposite Cable & Wireless, and next to the Anguilla Drug Store, where the partnering churches are engaged in a dynamic two-week crusade. These anointed sessions of services, which comprise mainly worship and preaching, began last Sunday night, August 15th, with a handsome crowd. Pastor Gareth Hodge, President of the AEA, opened the crusade with an awakening message entitled, “Mighty To Save”. This is the general theme of the crusade taken from Zephaniah 3:17.

The following night, Monday, Pastor Jerome Harrigan stirred the congregation with another resounding sermon. Its text was taken from Isaiah 55:1-3 under the theme: “Encounter 55 – A Thirst Quenching Experience”. He invited all who were spiritually dry to come and quench their thirsty souls. Other local pastors will deliver timely messages each night and, similarly, each participating church’s worship-team will take turns in conducting the worship segment nightly. There is one particular strategy of evangelism being stressed during these two weeks: each church member attending the meetings is encouraged to bring with him/her at least one neighbor, friend, acquaintance or co-worker whom he/she deems to be in need of salvation. In highlighting the importance of this plan, Pastor Gareth lately alluded to this appropriate time-tested quote which goes: “Salvation is one hungry man letting another starving man know where to find free bread.” This crusade unreservedly presents God’s son, Jesus Christ, as the bread of life. A cordial invitation is extended to the general public to “come out” each night to attend these relevant and timely evangelistic services. However, just in case it may not be convenient to reach under the tent, the services can be viewed via live steaming at destinychurchanguilla.com. |
