The Island Harbour Christian Pre- School ended their 5-week study of animals with a visit on Tuesday from the Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation. Charlotte, a visiting vet tech and AARF volunteer for the summer, led a discussion with the children on how to take better care of their dogs and cats, what a dog might be “saying” with his tail, and safety tips on how to approach a strange dog.
The children enthusiastically asked questions and shared their pet stories with the other AARF volunteers Joan and Suzie and Joan’s 14 year old dog Opal who enjoyed getting lots of pets from the students and showed with her gentleness that all black dogs are not ferocious! The AARF shelter currently has several puppies and kittens for adoption – check out the website at www.aarf.ai or call the shelter for more information 476-2731.
