Letter To The Editor
SIN BY ANY OTHER NAME…
Dear Sir,
I write in defense of Pastor James Harrigan (not that he needs any defense) who came under vicious attack by 3 of your readers in response to his recent articles about homosexuality and same sex marriage, printed in your newspaper. While it is true that God loves the sinner, He hates the sin. Regardless to what we may call it, alternative lifestyle, gay, disease or whatever, it is still sin and an abomination to God and mankind. It doesn’t matter how one may describe the chromosomes, or try to justify that behavior, SIN BY ANY OTHER NAME IS STILL THE SAME. It is still sin. It matters not what legislation is passed, what the Supreme Court or the Privy Council says or does – it matters not which sports celebrities or movie stars come out of the closet and publicly declare their sexual preference – it does not make this wrong right.
I say to all the critics: yes, God loves them and offers to all, who desire to change, deliverance from sin. It still holds true that the wage of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord, the only savior.
Thanks for your space,
Gareth L. Hodge (Pastor)
