The three-day workshop, from October 12-14, was organised by the National AIDS Programme in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Culture.
The workshop was fully funded by the European Union/Overseas Countries and Territories project and was facilitated by a consultant, Rose Aubertin, contracted by the Department For International Development (DFID).

The main objectives of the workshop were to increase knowledge about STI transmission, prevention and treatment; to understand the role of Peer Educators and their response to STI transmission in Anguilla; to expose participants to the impact of STIs on individuals and the community; and to develop core skills as Peer Educators.
The Peer Educators will work in conjunction with the National AIDS Programme whose Coordinator is Civilla Kentish.
