Festive 2012 at Viceroy Anguilla surpassed everyone’s expectations. The activities were even more innovative and the service demonstrated why Viceroy was able to garner so many amazing Luxury travel accolades in 2012. The wealthy, the famous and those looking for an experience to remember for a lifetime were all present.

Fitness and wellness were again the focus for much of the programming and the hotel offered over 20 different daily fitness classes with ce¬lebrity trainers. The Sports Pavilion continued to attract guests, whether it was to the tennis courts, or the basketball court, or the volleyball court or the rock climbing wall. Sunday Fun Day captivated both the young and the more mature as our guests engaged in friendly competition with colleagues on the basketball court, as the current pop songs rode the waves. Many of our guests were intrigued by the aerial classes and performances. There were sunrise and sunset yoga sessions, Barry’s Bootcamp trainers were on hand and spin classes led by our own Danny Laud were constantly in demand.

The Spa reopened to showcase its additional treatment rooms, its new steam rooms and renovated gents and ladies locker rooms. It offered new treatments, as well as the oxygen ball option. The therapists performed treatments in the treatment rooms, poolside, in the cabanas and in-room.
From December 28 – 30, the Hotel showcased one of the largest names in the culinary world, Marc Forgoine. Marc was season 3 winner of The Next Iron Chef in 2010 on Food Network. He also has a Michelin Star. Marc hosted 2 dinner sittings for the 3 day period which were received with rave reviews.
As an island, we are known for our beaches and our guests flocked to our 2 amazing beaches, Barnes Bay where the Half Shell restaurant is located and to Meads Bay, where Bamboo is located. On average, the Bamboo restaurant did more than 170 covers a day during the Festive period.

Only at Viceroy Anguilla
The place to be on New Year’s Eve was at Viceroy Anguilla. Everyone on the island knew this and wanted to be part of the celebration. However, due to the very high occupancy levels, the celebration was focused on the resident guests. The property offered dinner at Coba Restaurant and a sumptuous Gala buffet at the Aleta Restaurant. After dinner, the crowds started to gather at the Sunset Lounge. Many persons went to the Ocean Terrace to set sail their wish lanterns. D.J. Hapa kept the excitement in the air, as he mixed all of the new beats. Around 11:15 PM Kelly Osbourne, the Mistress of Ceremony for the evening, took to the stage. The crowd was in a frenzy.

Karmin paused for the countdown to midnight and the voices in the crowd could be heard screaming 10, 9, 8…3, 2, 1 and the fireworks went off.

In that moment, all present knew that 2013 had dawned. Many were memorized with the splendor that sparkled in the sky, while others went beyond the fireworks, curious about what looms in the coming year. In that moment, there was a commonality that bonded all that were present.

Numbers Tell A Story
Viceroy’s financials tell the story of 2012. The average Festive occupancy level was 82% with an Average Daily Rate (ADR) in the thousands. Financially, it was a record breaking year for the property.

Service Above All
The most noted attraction on property over Festive 2012 was the service provided by our 500+ colleagues. As 1 guest posted on December 28th, Viceroy is “absolute perfection” from “the decor, the location & the exceptional service.” Viceroy’s story is being told by the service provided by its colleagues. There should be no surprise that more than 60% of the 2012 Festive guests were repeat clientele. The number is expected to be even higher in 2013.

Work hard, Play hard, Give Accolades
The colleagues at Viceroy Anguilla have much to be proud of; excited, happy guests and financials to make the ownership proud. After many long days, the colleagues celebrated in grand style at their Red Carpet Affair hosted at the Red Dragon Disco. In the words of the General Manager, Richard Alexander, “it was very Oscarish. Everyone was so dressed up and some folks even showed up in limousines.”
