Anguillian-born Dr. Leonard (Lenny) Richardson, who moved to Bird Rock, St. Kitts, at an early age, has been selected to lead the United States Air Force Reserve component during the Inauguration of President Obama on Monday, January 21.
As Commander of the troops, Lt. Colonel Richardson will salute the President on behalf of the entire United States Air Force Reserves, both past and present. Lenny is the son of Anguillians Dulcie Richardson and the late Constantine Richardson. He is the brother of Mrs. Dawn Reid, wife of Anguilla’s Deputy Governor, Stanley Reid.
Leonard A. Richardson attended the Newtown Primary School at Ponds Pasture, St. Kitts, the Basseterre Junior High School and the Basseterre High School before moving to the United States to study medicine. He then joined the United States Air Force and was trained as a Flight Surgeon.
Dr. Richardson is currently Chief of Aerospace Medicine at Andrew’s Air Force Base and has served in Operation Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom. Coupled with being a physician, he is also a pilot and still holds several national records in track and field for St. Kitts and Nevis.
