It is an amazing moment when you find that the seeds you have planted turned into full grown flowers.
On Tuesday March 22nd, former students mainly from class 99, of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, held a pre-90th birthday celebration for their former high school teacher Mrs. Pabsgarnon who they haven’t seen in about 20 years.
The goal was to celebrate the life of a truly amazing teacher, express their gratitude and show that the impact of a teacher is massive and eternal in the life of a student.
The night of the event was filled with happiness. As the saying goes, “Give me my flowers while I can enjoy them.” In a way, this is what these former students did.
During the earlier part of the event, Mrs. Pabsgarnon engaged in many conversations with her former students as they reminisce on their times in high school and updated each other about their present lives. Everyone was overjoyed. The students were all amazed to see how vibrant their very soon to be 90-year-old teacher was. At this time, Mrs. Pabsgarnon realised the impact her work had on her students and admired the things they are doing as adults.
During the latter part of the celebration, oral exchanges of appreciation were shared aloud by former students, friends and Mrs. Pabsgarnon who was grateful to have had the opportunity to spend quality time with them. She said, “It is an honour and privilege – and I hope to see them all again.”
