Christmas is a time for many decorations and colourful lights, dazzling like stars, in celebration of the season.
But no one expected to see, at this time, a papaya in the shape of a star. It appears that nature itself has joined in heralding in the Christmas season.
The Christmas Star Papaya, pictured here, was grown in Valeria Hodge’s garden in Lower South Hill. It was distinct from the shape of the other papayas which are of a normal form.
