The Anguilla Cancer Society joins other cancer organisation around the world in recognising Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every year the month of October is set aside to enable an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer. Join the Society as we work together to encourage and support women in the fight against cancer. Breast cancer is the leading cancer affecting women in Anguilla. Although men can get breast cancer, it is most common among women. The theme for activities is: Breast Cancer, Men and Women Can Get It. #ALLBODIES HAVE BREASTS!
Self-breast exams and clinical breast exams are encouraged. Regularly examining your breasts is an important step in early detection. All women over the age of 40 years are advised to speak to their doctor about conducting annual mammograms. Remember early detection can save your life!
