Radio Anguilla is pleased to officially announce the promotion of Ms. Felicia Hennis to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the News and Current Affairs Division.
Ms. Hennis succeeds former CIO, Mr. Joseph Ivor Hodge, who is now retired.
The new CIO who has worked in the News and Current Affairs Unit for nearly 20 years is the first female to head this division of the Department.
Chief Information Officer is a very prestigious position which, in the past, has been held by Mr. A. Nathaniel Hodge (Nat Hodge), Mr. Kenneth Hodge, the late Wycliffe Richardson, and Mr. Joseph Ivor Hodge.
Ms. Hennis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Communications from The New York Institute of Technology. She also has an Associates Degree from The State University of New York – College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. Ms. Hennis strongly believes in learning and always takes the opportunity to enroll in courses to develop her skills.
She attended several media workshops in the region and also had the opportunity to travel to Brussels for a media session organized by the European Union for regional journalists.
Commenting on Ms. Hennis’ promotion, Radio Anguilla’s Programme Manager, Mr. Keith “Stone” Greaves, said: “Thoroughly deserved promotion. Ms. Hennis’ hard work and dedication to our noble profession have paid dividends. Continue to stay focused – always strive for fairness, balance and, above all, the truth.”
Director of Radio Anguilla, Ms. Farrah Bank, said: “For the past two decades, Felicia’s work at Radio Anguilla has proven that for the dedicated, broadcasting is more of lifestyle than merely a job. Felicia brings passion to her work every single day and is a natural for this position. She seeks newsworthiness in every situation and takes her role very seriously. It’s an honour to see her advance into this post that she is so deserving of.”
Ms. Hennis has given her continued commitment to maintaining the high standard of news output that Radio Anguilla is known for, and will be looking to make the news even more dynamic and exciting.
She thanked Mr. Greaves and Mr. Nat Hodge for always motivating her and for providing her with opportunities to develop her skill set.
