Editor,
The Anguillian newspaper

I am very pleased and happy that our primary schools are all ready for reopening in the new school year beginning September 2021.

A big thank you to the former Minister of Education, and her hard working team, who insisted and ensured, that Anguilla has the most beautiful and strongest school buildings in the Caribbean. Thanks also to the contractors and their teams for their hard work and dedication.

Of course, special thanks go to the UK Government for the funds to see these schools to completion.

I am also pleased and happy to see that the Comprehensive School is not ready! You see, Mr. Editor, I have not heard anything about the sporting facilities. Will football, basketball, volleyball, netball, cricket — and not forgetting the track and field — facilities get started? Are we waiting till all the school buildings are completed, or will they deliver school and sporting facilities together?

It seems to me that only one Minister of Government can spend money on his pet peeves. Where can they find money for a road here, there and everywhere? Are roads more important than our children’s development?

Minister of Education what’s on your agenda? We are depending on you to get some funds to complete the ALHCS, with all its sporting facilities, instead of watching all the monies being spent on roads!

A concerned parent!
