The appointment has been announced of Ms. Charnissa Richardson, an Anguillian, as Director of Catering and Private Events at Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt. She brings with her over 20 years of experience within the hospitality space.
Having grown up in Anguilla, she is passionate about the destination and the Anguillian community. Charnissa graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She launched her career in Washington, D.C, where she was responsible for organising lobbyist meets & greets with members of Congress – and assisted with Government Affairs, and advertising National Conferences.
Charnissa went on to hold positions within the hospitality arena at Altamer Luxury Villa Resort, Viceroy Anguilla and Four Seasons Resorts and Residences Anguilla. Most recently, she was the Catering Sales Manager at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa in Grand Cayman.
In her role as Director of Catering and Private Events for the Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt, Charnissa is responsible for driving catering sales and elevating the group guest experience.
In her response to what she is most excited about in her new role, she said: “I am excited to work with the staff at the Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt. I am so grateful for the warm welcome, and overwhelming support, that I have received sine I have started at the resort. While there are so many carefully curated details that our ownership and management team have taken into consideration, the staff are the real super stars – and I’m honoured to be part of the team.”
Responding to how growing up in Anguilla shaped her approach to hospitality, she stated: “Hospitality comes naturally to Anguillians. My best memories revolve around family and friends coming to my grandparents’ home where it was a standard that guests would be offered something to eat and drink as they arrive. I think we can all remember getting those special ‘bottled’ sodas from the bottom of the fridge that were only for company – and the amazing meals that were created for special events. They naturally knew how to take care of their guests. That feeling has stuck with me and I apply that same method of hospitality to my guests.”
She added: “The future is very bright for this resort. I really wish I could share the details of what’s on the horizon, but I promise you it’s going to be amazing.”
