Mr. Kevin Archibald is no stranger to the creative arts, having grown up in a very artistic family where, as he shared, “almost everyone plays a musical instrument, sings, draws/paints or does something creative in nature.” He studied Art/Graphic Design at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and in 2012, he launched his own creative business, KSharp Photography now rebranded to KSharp Media.
Originally, the company specialised in wedding photography but has since diversified its services and, expanded its reach to include:
• Photography and video services for weddings, portraits, food, architecture/real estate and passports.
• Marketable video ads for all businesses that wish to be seen across all social media platforms and websites.
• Photobooths which can spice up and add life to any gathering.
• Graphic design for posters, flyers, logos and other media including logo animations which add a professional and marketable edge to your business.
On why he decided to start his own business, Mr. Archibald highlighted:
“I do believe that in working for another person’s company you have an opportunity to come on board to share in a part of their ultimate goal or dream. When you have your own personal goals, dreams and standards, you in turn need the freedom to operate in a manner which is unhindered by anyone who may have ideas that may or may not mesh well with yours. With that said, KSharp is a dream, and in order to be able to execute the ideas we had, we made the decision to place ourselves in a position to put those plans into action.
The last 10 years of my life have been nothing short of epic in terms of what I’ve been able to learn and experience within the business world. I do believe that KSharp has a personality. What we provide isn’t simply just a service – we aim to provide an experience for all of our clients.”
On the best business advice he has received to date, he shared;
‘The best advice I have received and I would encourage others to grasp is this: Make your business about your customers/clients! After all, it really is more about them and less about us. The ultimate satisfaction comes when we can see the joy on their faces and they give their smile of approval of a job well done, showing that we have satisfied and brought their vision to life. This has definitely been one of the biggest benefits of our business.”
To date, KSharp Media has received an extremely positive response from the public for its products and services.
On the biggest challenges it has faced thus far, Mr. Archibald noted:
“The biggest challenge has been getting our business to become “known”. This process never ends. Doing business in Anguilla can also be challenging at times due to several reasons. One of the main reasons is not being able to just drive to a location that has all of the supplies and products you need to conduct business. Often times when shipping in products from the US they arrive damaged or sometimes don’t arrive at all.”
On his top business tip for aspiring entrepreneurs, Mr. Archibald stressed, “Think BIG and always think outside the box. Keep in mind the popular saying, ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day.’ Always remain humble and be patient.”
Within the next decade, KSharp Media hopes to expand and evolve with the technological age. The KSharp Media team aspires to not only serve local people here in Anguilla, and those who come to our shores, but also hopes to be able to serve persons globally.
