The Social Security Board is pleased to inform the general public that the Office is now accepting and processing UAB applications for the month of August.

Employers are reminded that they are required to resubmit the employment validations in respect of each monthly claim for their employees in a timely manner. Failure to do so will delay the processing of applications and payment for employees eligible for the UAB. Employers, please remember that the UAB law requires that you submit validations within 1 week, and no later than 2 weeks of being, or continuing to be, unemployed or underemployed.
Employers and Employees are reminded that the Social Security Law requires contributions to be paid on vacation pay. Therefore, any employee receiving vacation pay amounting to EC$1,000 or more is not eligible for the UAB. However, if vacation pay is less than EC$1,000, the applicant will receive the difference between the UAB and the vacation payment.
Further, the Office is appealing to persons who do not meet the qualifying conditions to receive the UAB, and persons who are employed and earning EC$1,000 or more, or their normal wage if under $1,000 not to apply.

Applications are processed and paid in batches to your Bank and Credit Union. If you are eligible for payment and it is not included in a particular batch for the week, then it will be included in one of the subsequent batches. Applicants are reminded that they can check the status of their applications via the ‘Check Application Status’ tab at www.uassistance.ai using their Social Security Number and the Application Number provided on successful submission of their application.

As the SSB continues to be of service to its valued customers and stakeholders, the Management and Staff thank you for your attention, patience and kind cooperation.
