On Thursday 16th July, 2020, two clients from the 2019 Cohort for Job Link-Up Programme visited the Department of Youth and Culture to share some good news.
Twin brothers, Danzel & Denzel Rodgers, were referred to the Job Link Up Programme in 2019. As clients of the programme the brothers would have benefited from personal and professional development sessions, behavioural and career counselling, and also an opportunity to pursue Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Work Skills courses, at the Anguilla Community College, which were sponsored by the Department of Youth and Culture.
The brothers were extremely excited and stated that despite the challenges they faced in the past, they were ready to make a positive impact in their lives and, more importantly, the community.
On behalf of the Director and staff of the Department of Youth and Culture, we would like to congratulate Danzel & Denzel on their successful completion of the BTEC Work Skills courses.
The Job Link-Up Programme targets young people, between the ages of 16-30, who are considered ‘vulnerable’ due to particular socio-economic factors which may prevent them from gaining employment. The programme provides an individually tailored package of work experience, training, guidance and counselling to each client that is on the programme.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Department of Youth and Culture by telephone at (264)498-3792.
