Ms. Kemoloy Murphy, Graduate Student at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla, was selected to represent the Regional Guild of Students at a Forum entitled: Online Delivery: The Lifeblood of Education in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The forum on Monday, May 18th at 2:30 p.m. examined online education in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the UWI’s response. The distinguished list of panelists included Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Open Campus, Dr. Luz Longsworth, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning, Professor Asha Kanwar, Dr. Martin Baptiste from the Caribbean Development Bank, and Chair of the UWI’s e-Learning Committee, Mr. Kevin Ramsoobhag. Moderator for the session was Mr. Cleveland Sam, Marketing and Communications Manager at the UWI Open Campus.
Murphy is the Chair of the UWI Open Campus Guild of Students – Anguilla Chapter and has also served as Regional Games Committee Chair for the Open Campus. She is a UWI STAT Ambassador and a member of the Student Quality Assurance Review Team. A Programme Officer in the Department of Youth & Culture in the Government of Anguilla, she completed the Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies in 2018 and is currently completing the Master of Science in Project Management.
Murphy will share on the panel in her capacity as a student, while the other panelists will address the role of the UWI Open Campus, as well as issues relating to access, teacher preparation and the propensity for and the mainstreaming of online education.
