Plans are in hand for a special memorial service, singing programme and other related activities, in honour of the birthday of Anguilla’s Revolutionary Leader, Mr. James Ronald Webster.
His birthday is March 2 and the service for that celebration will be held at the mausoleum – housing his remains – overlooking the Ronald Webster Park, named after him, in The Valley area. The memorial event, the full details of which were not given, was recently announced by Mrs. Yvonne Webster-Pryce, Mr. Webster’s step daughter, on behalf of his wife, Mrs. Cleo Webster, and other family members.
The famed Revolutionary Leader, dubbed the “Father of the Nation”, died on December 9, 2016, at the age of just over 90 years. The Government of Anguilla accorded him a State Funeral on January 13, 2017, at St. Mary’s Parish Church now the Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary’s.
The area surrounding the mausoleum has been cleaned in preparation for the memorial service and singing programme.
