Like J’ouvert on August Monday, the Grand Parade of Troupes, on Friday, August 9, was a spectacular event.
Troupe after troupe, bands, floats, and trucks slowly made their way from the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre, up the Albert Lake Drive, across the Mahogany Tree Road, down the Airport Road, to the Round-about at the junction of the Edwin Wallace Rey Drive and the Carter Rey Boulevard, and back to the Landsome Bowl.
The mass event was incident-free. It was the climax of a week-long series of events, thoroughly enjoyed by hundreds of people, both residents and visitors alike.
The above are scenes of the colourful Grand Parade of Troupes.
