An aerobics group, associated with the National Chronic Disease Unit and the Department of Sports, and appropriately named, ‘ MOVE YA BODY CAMPAIGN’ has now had its second officially launch.
Speaking at the event, on May 17 at the Caribbean Commercial Complex, outside the Ministry of Health was Ms. Shereena Richardson, one of the main persons involved in the exercise and healthy-eating group.
“We are very excited to continue the work, started last year, and this year we are encouraging more persons to join the movement as we move in the direction for a reduction in chronic non-communicable diseases,” Ms. Richardson said. “Special thanks to the Anguilla Social Security Board, Scotiabank, Digicel, FLOW for joining the movement today and embracing the ‘Move Ya Body’ Campaign. We are happy to share in our efforts, and we encourage others to join the movement.”
Other speakers were Mr. Cardigan Connor, Parliamentary Secretary, Sports; and Mr. Foster Rogers, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Development, both of whom commended the movement for its work.
